Chandigarh Police apprehended a 34-year-old Mumbai resident, Joshua Oscar Nevis, for allegedly defrauding a city resident of Rs 1.3 crore through a WhatsApp impersonation scam. Nevis posed as the victim’s employer, tricking him into transferring funds. He admitted to providing his banking details to contacts on Telegram, leading to a broader investigation into a potential network.
