‘Non-edible’ oil, expired ghee found at CSMT canteen serving railway staff
A railway canteen at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus was inspected and found with hygiene deficiencies. Non-edible ghee and expired packets were discovered, raising food safety concerns among staff. Used oil, clearly marked as non-edible, was also found in a cooking vessel. The canteen was subsequently shut for two days following the inspection findings. Union representatives claimed the items were for lamps, not cooking purposes.
