Diamond League: Neeraj Qualifies For CWG On Comeback After 9 Months, SL’s Rumesh 1st

Neeraj Chopra at Doha Diamond League 2026, Javelin Throw Highlights: India’s Neeraj Chopra made a respectable return to competitive javelin action after nine months, finishing fourth with a best throw of 85.69m at the Doha Diamond League 2026 in Qatar on Friday. Sri Lanka’s Rumesh Pathirage finished first with a superb throw of 88.68m. Grenada’s Anderson Peters came second with a best throw of 86.38m, while USA’s Curtis Thompson came third with a best throw of 85.99m. Returning to action after a back injury, Neeraj started off poorly with a false throw, but his second throw of 82.77m guaranteed him Commonwealth Games (CWG) 2026 qualification. Neeraj’s best throw came on his third attempt.
