Central Railway restores second ghat line, Deccan Queen and Intercity services to resume from July 16
Central Railway has announced the reopening of a second railway line in the picturesque Karjat-Lonavala ghat section, thereby allowing the Deccan Queen and Intercity Express services to kickstart again. Following landslides that caused heavy damage, the first line returned to service on July 7. Restoration work for the third line is still in progress, and trains are adhering to speed limits on the operational tracks.
