LIVE: “Long Story, Won’t Comment On Mamata Didi,” Says Sushmita Dev On Quitting Trinamool

West Bengal Trinamool Crisis Live Update: Another Trinamool Congress MP, Sushmita Dev, has resigned as a member of the Rajya Sabha, the second party MP to resign this week.

Dev, a former Congress leader who had joined the TMC in 2021, wrote a letter to Rajya Sabha chairman CP Radhakrishnan and resigned from the membership of the House.

She is the second MP of the TMC to quit this week after Sukhendu Sekhar Ray, who had tendered his resignation from the party as well as the Rajya Sabha.

Mamata Banerjee’s Trinamool Congress is witnessing an unprecedented rebellion in the party’s legislature wing in Bengal, where 58 party MLAs broke ranks with the leadership and backed Ritabrata Banerjee for the post of Leader of the Opposition, rejecting the party’s official nominee Shovandeb Chattopadhyay.
