Govt waives 11% duty on cotton imports for 40 days

To combat rising input costs for textile mills, the government has temporarily eliminated customs duties on raw cotton imports for a 40-day period, effective from August 19 to September 30. This exemption aims to increase the availability of raw cotton domestically and boost the export competitiveness of Indian textile products by reducing production expenses.
