Senior citizens, women in focus: Sebi plans special perks for select investors; aims to boost retail bond participation

The Securities and Exchange Board of India is proposing new incentives to revive the country’s debt market. Issuers could offer higher coupon rates or discounts to senior citizens, women, armed forces personnel, and retail subscribers. This move aims to encourage more retail investors to participate in bond issuances. Public comments on the proposal are invited until November 17.
