Centre proposes ‘country of origin’ filter on e-commerce sites

The consumer affairs department has proposed a new rule requiring e-commerce platforms to implement a searchable and sortable filter for the country of origin on imported products. This move aims to empower consumers to make informed purchasing decisions more efficiently. The department also notified amended Legal Metrology Rules for the verification of 18 different weights and measures.
