‘Very unfortunate’: KKR head coach breaks silence on Green workload row

Abhishek Nayar has termed Cameron Green’s absence with the ball in IPL 2026 as “unfortunate” due to a back injury but stressed KKR view him as a long-term successor to Andre Russell. Nayar said the franchise invests in players for their overall value, not short-term returns. He also backed Varun Chakaravarthy, saying the spinner is mentally strong and will bounce back despite recent struggles.
