RBI curbs harsh loan recovery practices

New RBI rules aim to protect borrowers from harassment during loan recovery. Banks must now resolve complaints before initiating recovery and disclose agent identities. Harsh tactics like threats, abusive language, and invasion of privacy are banned. Contact is restricted to specific hours and only with the borrower or guarantor, respecting personal events and borrower requests.
