Housing inventory: Unsold homes rise 4% across top cities; new supply continues to outpace demand

Unsold housing inventory in India’s top seven cities rose 4% last year, reaching over 5.76 lakh units as new supply outpaced buyer demand. Housing sales declined 14% while new launches increased 2%, widening the supply-demand gap. While some cities saw inventory reduction, others experienced significant build-up.
