Govt to change highway deal norms to get more private companies

The government is set to revise highway contract conditions to attract more private investment by de-risking projects. New provisions include revenue support and extended tolling periods for traffic shortfalls, with buyback options for projects exceeding capacity. Lenders’ exposure will be safeguarded through debt repayment and concessionaire substitution in case of contract termination.
