Railways boost: Cabinet okays Rs 2,192 crore project to double Bakhtiyarpur-Rajgir-Tilaiya line; move to aid freight, pilgrims and local economy

The Cabinet Committee has approved doubling the Bakhtiyarpur–Rajgir–Tilaiya railway line. This project costs Rs 2,192 crore. It will improve connectivity to Rajgir, Nalanda, and Pawapuri. The initiative benefits 13.5 lakh people across Gaya and Nawada. Freight traffic is expected to rise significantly. The project reduces oil imports and carbon emissions. It aligns with the PM Gati Shakti National Master Plan.
