GST reforms to boost dairy and fertiliser sectors; lower household costs, aid farmers

Sweeping GST reforms are set to boost India’s cooperative and farm sectors by reducing costs and increasing demand, according to the Ministry of Cooperation. Dairy products, food processing items, and agricultural inputs will see significant tax cuts. These changes aim to benefit rural enterprises, FPOs, and women-led self-help groups, while promoting sustainable farming practices and lowering household expenditures on food.
