For flouting pollution norms, BMC to revoke builders’ project permission

Responding to escalating air quality concerns, the BMC has implemented tough penalties for construction sites that fail to adopt effective air pollution mitigation strategies. Architects and developers could face suspension of licenses or revocation of development permissions if they do not comply. Additionally, a 100% penalty will be imposed on applicable premium rates for any unauthorized work conducted after a stop-work notice.
