India’s defence ministry has approved a Rs 30,000 crore contract to procure 87 indigenously manufactured long-range drones, poised to transform the UAV sector. The order will be split between two manufacturers, establishing separate production facilities for future growth and exports. These MALE drones will be used for reconnaissance, electronic warfare, and precision strikes, enhancing India’s defence capabilities.
