India, US close to finalising ‘early tranche’ of trade deal

India and the US are nearing completion of the initial phase of a bilateral trade agreement, aiming to finalize the text before July 9. India is considering concessions on agricultural products and automobiles in exchange for a 10% duty on labor-intensive goods like textiles and footwear.
