Warner Bros. Discovery splits: Cable, streaming services to be divided; decision to be finalised by 2026

Warner Bros. Discovery will split into two public companies by mid-2025, separating its streaming/studio divisions from its traditional cable networks. David Zaslav will lead Streaming & Studios, housing HBO and Warner Bros., while Gunnar Wiedenfels will head Global Networks, including CNN and Discovery Channel. Shares surged following the announcement.
